How to Add Multiple Images to a Single Instagram Story

There are several ways to add multiple images to your Instagram Story, whether you post them one at a time or all at once. While you can use various photo editing apps to create collages, Instagram has a built-in feature in the Story sticker menu to let you do just that. With this feature, you can add as many photos to your Instagram story as you want.

How to Add Multiple Photos in One Instagram Story on iPhone

While you have the option to post multiple images as separate stories at once, you can also integrate them into a single story. This new feature is hidden in the Stories sticker section, so you might not even know it. It's called the photo sticker, and if you don't have it, check if you're using the latest Instagram update.

Before adding one or more photos to your Instagram story, decide what you will use for your background. There are many things you can use as a background. It depends on your creativity and the type of story you want to post.

For example, you can either take a photo of something, post a photo from your iPhone gallery, or choose a color for your background. If you plan to add multiple photos and want a solid background, here's what you can do:

1. Open the app on your iPhone.
   
2. Tap the "Your Story" sticker in the upper left corner of the screen or swipe the screen to the right.
   
3. Take a random photo.
4. Tap the drawing icon (wavy line) in the upper right corner of your screen. It's the second icon from the left.
   
5. Choose a color for your background from the color palette at the bottom of the screen.
   
6. Tap the screen until the entire background is colored in the hue you have chosen.
   
7. Select "Done" in the upper right corner.
   

Now that you have your background, it's time to add several photos to your Instagram story. To see how it works on an iPhone, follow the steps below:

1. Go to the "Sticker" icon in the top menu.
   
2. Locate the "Photo" function in the context menu. The last photo in your gallery will be displayed.
   
3. Find the image you want to add and tap on it.
   
4. Use your fingers to adjust its size and position.
5. Tap the photo to change its shape. You can choose between a circle, a star, a square, a rectangle and a heart.
   
6. Go back to the "Sticker" icon and press the "Photo" tool.
   
7. Choose another photo and upload it.
8. Repeat the same steps for each photo you add.
9. When you're done, tap the "Your Story" bubble in the lower left corner of your screen.
   

You can technically add as many photos as you want. Just be sure to position them in a way that makes them all visible.

How to Add Multiple Photos to Single Instagram Story on Android Device

Android devices also have this feature, although it was only recently available. To add multiple photos to a single Instagram story, Android users had to download third-party apps to create collages or grids. But with the Photo function, it makes things much easier.

To add multiple photos to a single Instagram story, follow the steps below:

1. Open Instagram on your Android device.
   
2. Go to "Your Story" in the upper right corner of your screen.
   
3. Take a photo, upload one or choose a color for your background.
   
4. Tap the "Sticker" icon at the top of your screen.
   
5. Scroll down and select the "Photo" tool.
   
6. Choose the photo you want to add to your Story.
   
7. Tap it to change its shape.
   
8. Change its position by holding it and dragging it across the screen.
   
9. Pinch the photo to enlarge or reduce it.
   
10. Repeat the same steps for any other photos you want to add.
11. When you're done, tap the "Your Story" bubble in the lower left corner of your screen.
    

There is another way to add multiple photos to an Instagram story, and that is with the layout tool. However, if you want to use this feature, the photos you use must be taken at that time. Here's how it's done:

1. Launch Instagram and open your Story window.
   
2. Tap the down arrow on the left toolbar.
   
3. Select “Layout”.
   
4. To choose the layout template, go to the “Change Grid” option. You can choose one of six different grid patterns.
5. Take a photo for each section.
6. Tap the checkmark at the bottom of the screen.
   
7. Go to "Your Story" in the lower left corner of your screen to post your story.
   

If you don't like one of the photos, tap it and select the trash can icon to delete it. Then you can take another photo to replace it. You can also use Instagram filters while taking the photos. Moreover, you can choose a different filter for each photo.

How to Add Multiple Photos to a Single Instagram Story on PC

Instagram does not support posting from a PC natively. However, there is a workaround you can use. This may seem complicated at first glance, but as long as you follow the steps below, it's actually quite simple:

1. In Chrome, click on the three dots in the upper right corner of your screen.
   
2. Select "More Tools" from the drop-down menu.
   
3. Choose "Developer Tools" from the list of options. The “Developer” window will appear on the right side of your screen.
   
4. Click the mobile icon on the top toolbar. It's on the left side of the "Elements" tab.
   
5. Select the "Dimensions: Responsive" tab in the upper left corner.
   
6. Choose a mobile interface you want to use (for example, iPhone X).
   
7. Refresh the page.
   
   Now your PC screen will have the same interface as your mobile phone. Unfortunately, this workaround will only allow you to add one image to your Instagram story at a time. You cannot upload multiple images. To add a photo to your Instagram story on PC, follow the steps below:
8. Go to Instagram on your browser.
   
9. Click on “Your Story” in the top left corner.
   
10. Instagram will recommend using the app at this point. To skip this part, just choose "Not Now" from the pop-up message.
    
11. Find the image you want to publish on your PC and select "Open".
    
12. Make the necessary edits to your Instagram Story.
13. Click on “Your story” to publish it.
