How to Bold Text on Facebook

The average Facebook user sifts through hundreds of posts and comments every day, barely registering most of them. But if you want to draw attention to your posts, comments, notes, and discussions, you need to make them stand out. One of the best and easiest ways to do this is to bold key sections of your comments and posts.

Let's see how to bold your posts and make them stand out.

Notes Facebook

The only part of Facebook that natively supports bold text is Notes. Notes even allows users to italicize the body of a note. However, there is no option to bold the note title, as it is written in bold by default.

Here's how to bold text in a Facebook note:

1. Launch your browser and go to Facebook.
   

   

2. When you reach the home page, click on the More button at the bottom of the menu on the left side.
   

   

3. Click on Remarks.
   

   

4. You will see the Notes feed with notes created by your friends. Click on the Write a note button just below the Quick Help button.
   

   

5. When the note creation panel opens, click Title and name your note.
   

   

6. Click on write something to start composing your note.
   

   

7. Select part of the text or the whole text. You will see a menu appear above the selected text.
   

   

8. Click on the B (the leftmost option) to bold the selected text. The end result should look like this:
   

   

How to Bold Text on Facebook

For all other bolding purposes, Facebook users will need to rely on third-party apps and sites capable of generating Facebook-friendly Unicode text.

Bold text in posts

If you want your status update to stand out or bring more attention to a topic you care about, you should definitely try bolding key parts of the text.

This is how it works:

1. Go to your profile.
   

   

2. Click on the What's on your mind? box.
   

   

3. Write your status, but don't post it yet.
   

   

4. Select a part of the text you want to bold and press Ctrl + C to copy it.
   

   

5. Open YayText's bold text generator page in a new tab.
   

   

6. Paste the selected text into the builder your text box.
   

   

7. The generator gives you several options to customize your text. The first two will only bold the text. Choose between Serif and Sans options. Click on the Copy button next to your choice.
   

   

8. Go back to Facebook and right click on the selected text. To select Pete in the drop-down menu. The end result should look like this:

Now your post should be published with the bold text you copied from YayText.

Bold text in profile

If you want to emphasize certain traits or facts about yourself in the About You section of your profile, here's how:

1. Go to your profile.
   

   

2. Click on the Add a biography link in the Introduction section.
   

   

3. Write your biography, but don't publish it yet.
   

   

4. Select a part of your description and copy ce.
   

   

5. Open the YayText bold text generator in a new tab.
   

   

6. Pete your selection in the Your text box.
   

   

7. Click on one of the bolding options. Keep in mind that the None option is the most compatible with Facebook.

Bold text in comments

YayText also allows you to bold text in Facebook comments. Follow these steps to make your comments stand out:

1. Find an article you would like to comment on.
   

   

2. Click on To write a comment and write your comment. As in previous tutorials, do not post it yet.
   

   

3. Select and copy the part of your comment you want to appear in bold.
   

   

4. Open the bold text generator in a new tab.
   

   

5. Pete your selection in the Your text box.
   

   

6. Click on one of the options provided. Your text is now copied to the clipboard and ready to be pasted into your comment.
   

   

7. Return to Facebook and replace the selected text with its bold version. It should look something like this:

Bold Text in Facebook Chat
