How to Buy Pre-Release in WeBull

To help you respond to earnings reports faster and get a head start on trades, Webull facilitates trades during the pre-market period. Read on to learn how to do this using the desktop and mobile app.

We'll show you how to set up pre-market trades to buy stocks when your price is available; how to change your limit price and how to sell stocks.



How to Buy Webull Pre-Market Stock on PC

Here's how to set up your account to buy stocks during the pre-market period via Webull for desktop:

  1. Launch and log in to the "Webull" desktop application.
  2. In the top menu, click on the "Trade" tab.
  3. In the search box at the top right, enter a search for the name of the stock you want to buy.
  4. Click the action name in the search results list to view the action details.
  5. On the far right, click the menu icon.
  6. Select “Add Widget” then “Exchange”.
  7. Next to "Side", make sure the "Buy" tab is selected.
  8. At the "Limit Price" option, the current trade price for that stock will be displayed. If you want to increase or decrease the price at which you want to buy, use the plus and minus buttons, or click in the field to enter a specific price.
  9. In 'Quantity' enter the number of shares you wish to purchase using the plus and minus buttons or click on the field to enter a number.
  10. In the “Trading Hours” option, click on the drop-down arrow.
  11. In the “Select trading hours” pop-up window, click “Include extended hours”. Or, depending on your version, the drop-down arrow may be labeled "Ext Hours". If so, select “Yes” to trade during pre-market.
  12. In the 'Time-in-Force' option, click the drop-down arrow to change from 'Day' to 'GTC', which stands for 'Good Till Cancelled'. This will put your order on hold until a transaction is available at your price. Unless you cancel the order, it will expire after 60 days if not fulfilled.
  13. Once you're happy with everything, click "Buy (stock name)".
  14. A review of your order will appear, click 'Confirm'.

If you want to change your purchase price:



  1. Towards the bottom of the “Trade” widget, click on the “Orders” tab.
  2. Click on “In Progress” to view your current order.
  3. Click the order to display its details in the widget.
  4. Under 'Limit price', click on the pencil icon.
  5. Increase or decrease the price, then press "Confirm".

How to sell Webull shares on a PC?

To sell stocks through the Webull desktop app, follow these steps:

  1. Open and log in to the “Webull” APP.
  2. In the top menu, click on the "Trade" tab.
  3. On the far right, click the menu icon.
  4. Select “Add Widget” then “Exchange”.
  5. Enter the name of the stock you wish to sell or click on the "Orders" tab at the bottom of the "Trade" widget to locate the stock.
  6. Click on the stock name to view its details.
  7. Click on the “Sell” tab.
  8. Set your selling price to "Limit Price" by entering a price or using the plus and minus buttons.
  9. Enter the number of shares you wish to sell in "Quantity".
  10. Once you're happy with everything, press "Sell (stock name)".
  11. A review of your order will appear, click 'Confirm'.

How to Buy Webull Premarket Stock on an iPhone

To set up your Webull account to buy shares at a fixed price during pre-market, follow these steps:

  1. Open and log in to the “Webull” mobile app.
  2. In the options tab at the bottom of the screen, tap on “Markets”.
  3. At the top right, click on the “Search” icon.
  4. Enter a search for the name of the stock you want to buy.
  5. Tap the stock name listed in the search results.
  6. At the bottom left, click on the “Exchange” button.
  7. At the top left, your stock will be displayed with its current price.
  8. Scroll down to 'Limit price'. You will see that it is set to the current trading price. Use the plus and minus buttons if you want to increase or decrease the price. Or click in the field to enter a specific price.
  9. In "Quantity", enter the number or use the plus and minus buttons to indicate the number of shares you want.
  10. Under "Time-in-Force", click the drop-down arrow to change "Day" to "GTC" - "Good Till Canceled". This pauses your order until a trade is available at your price. Unless you cancel the order, it will expire after 60 days if not fulfilled.
  11. To trade during the pre-market, next to “Extended hours”, check the “Yes” option.
  12. Once you are satisfied with everything, press the "Buy" button at the bottom left.
  13. A review of your order will appear. Press "Confirm" to confirm.

If you want to change your purchase price:



  1. Tap "Open Orders" via the options at the bottom.
  2. Click the pencil icon next to your order price.
  3. Increase or decrease the price as you wish, then press "Confirm".
  4. An “Order Change Notice” will appear at the top of the screen indicating the new price.

How to Sell Webull Stock on an iPhone

To sell Webull stock from your iPhone:

  1. Open and log in to the “Webull” APP.
  2. In the options tab at the bottom of the screen, tap on “Markets”.
  3. At the top right, tap "Search".
  4. Enter a search for the name of the stock you want to sell.
  5. Tap it from the results.
  6. At the bottom left, select "Trade".
  7. In the middle of the screen, tap "Sell".
  8. At “Limit price”, set your selling price.
  9. In "Quantity", enter the number of shares you wish to sell.
  10. When you're done, tap "Sell" in the bottom left.
  11. A review of your order will appear. Click on “Confirm”.

How to Buy Webull Premarket Stock on Android Phone

To buy shares during the pre-market period using the Webull app:

  1. Launch then connect to the "Webull" application.
  2. Tap "Markets" in the tabs at the bottom of the screen.
  3. At the top right, click on the “Search” icon.
  4. Enter a search for the name of the stock you want to buy.
  5. Click the stock name listed in the search results.
  6. At the bottom left, tap the "Redeem" button.
  7. At the top left, your stock will be displayed with the current price.
  8. Scroll down to 'Limit price'. It will be set at the current trading price. Use the plus and minus buttons if you want to change the price. Or click in the field to enter a specific price.
  9. In "Quantity", enter the number or use the plus and minus buttons to indicate the number of shares you want.
  10. Under 'Time-in-Force', click the drop-down arrow and change 'Day' to 'GTC' - this stands for 'Good Till Cancelled'. This will put your order on hold until a transaction matching your price becomes available. Unless you cancel the order, it will expire after 60 days if it has not been fulfilled.
  11. To trade during the pre-market, next to the 'Extended hours' option, select the 'Yes' option.

  1. In the options at the bottom, tap on “Open Orders”.

  4. The top of the screen will display an "Order Change Notice" with the new price.

How to sell stocks in Webull on an Android

To sell stocks using the Webull app for Android:

  1. Open and log in to the “Webull” APP.
  2. Tap "Markets" at the bottom of the screen.
  3. At the top right, click on the “Search” icon.
  4. Enter a search for the name of the stock you want to sell.
  5. Tap it in the search results.
  6. Tap "Redeem" at the bottom left.
  7. In the middle of the screen, tap "Sell".
  8. At “Limit price”, set your selling price.
  9. In "Quantity", enter the number of shares you wish to sell.
  10. When you're done, tap "Sell" in the bottom left.
  11. A review of your order will appear, click 'Confirm'.
