How to copy a table in Notion on a Windows PC

If you're using a Windows PC and want to copy a board into Notion, you'll be happy to know that you can do so in two different ways. Depending on your preferences, you can choose between copying or duplicating your table.

Here's how to copy a board into Notion using your Windows PC:

  1. Open concept.
  2. Find the board you want to copy from the left menu.
  3. Tap the three dots next to the table name.
  4. Press "Duplicate". You can save time and hold the "Ctrl + D" shortcut to duplicate your table.

You will see the copy appear just below the original table in the left menu.

You can now rename and modify the new table. If you want to move it to better organize your lists, make sure you have selected the correct item before trying to drag it.

Keep in mind that when copying your table using this method, you will be able to modify your copy without affecting the original version. The copy is completely independent, and you can customize it, modify pre-existing data, add columns or rows, etc. The method is great if you only use the original table structure.

But what if you want to edit the copy and the original file simultaneously? We also have a solution for this; just follow the steps below:

  1. Open concept.
  2. In the left menu, find the table you want to copy.
  3. Tap the three dots next to it.
  4. Press "Copy link".
  5. Navigate to the file where you want to insert the link.
  6. Press "Ctrl + V" to paste the file.
  7. You will see a menu appear with three options. Press "Create Linked Database".

You have successfully created a copy of your table. Keep in mind that when you change one, you also change the other. People often use this method to add or remove specific content from their tables while preserving the rest. You don't have to worry about missing some data or forgetting to change a number. Notion will do it for you with this method.

How to Copy a Table in Notion on a Mac

Copying a board into Notion on a Mac device is a simple process and only takes a few steps. As with the Windows version, there are two ways to copy a board in Notion on a Mac.
