How to Find a Server ID in Discord on a PC or Smartphone

Virtually everything you see on Discord has a unique 18-digit number assigned to it. Discord users, messages, channels, and servers all have special IDs. These numbers are typically used by developers to reference individual items.

While you can enjoy Discord life without knowing any of these IDs, sometimes a Server ID is needed to help investigate or troubleshoot an issue. Read on to find out how to find a Discord server ID.



Before recovering an identifier, you must first activate the "Developer mode". This gives you the ability to copy identifiers and makes other information available. How to Find Discord Server ID on PC

To locate the Server ID, you must first enable "Developer Mode". Here's how to do it from desktop app and web browser access:

  1. Connect to Discord.
  2. Next to your username in the bottom left, click the "Settings" icon.
  3. In the menu on the left, choose the option "APP SETTINGS".
  4. Scroll down to the "Advanced" section, then click the slider next to the "Developer Mode" option.
  5. Now press ESC or click X to close Settings.

Notes: "Developer mode" is enabled once the slider is blue and disabled when it is grey.


Now, to find the ID of a server:

  1. Above the list of text channels, right-click on the server name to open it.
  2. Choose "Copy ID".
  3. Paste the ID somewhere for later use.
    • You can disable "Developer Mode" now if you wish.

How to Find a Discord Server ID on an iPhone

Before copying a server ID, you need to enable “developer mode”. Here's how to use your iPhone or any iOS device:


  1. Log in to your Discord account.
  2. At the top left, tap the three-line menu icon to access the menu panel.
  3. At the bottom right of the menu, tap your profile icon.
  4. Swipe up to find "APP SETTINGS", then tap "Appearance", find "ADVANCED".
  5. Next, tap the slider next to the “Developer mode” option to enable it.
  6. Exit the “Appearance” menu.

Notes: When the slider is grey, “Developer mode” is disabled; it is blue when activated.

Now, to find the ID of a server:

  1. Above the channel list, find the server name, then tap the three-dot icon next to it.
  2. At the bottom of the drop-down menu, choose "Copy ID".
    • The Server ID will be copied to your clipboard.

How to Find Discord Server ID on Android Device

Before retrieving a server ID, you need to enable “Developer Mode”. To do this, follow these steps on your Android device:


  1. Log in to your Discord account.
  2. Tap the hamburger menu icon.
  3. Tap your profile icon at the bottom right.
  4. Choose "User Settings", "Application Settings", then "Behavior".
  5. Now enable “Developer Mode” by tapping on the slider next to “CAT BEHAVIOUR”
  6. Exit the "Behavior" menu.

Notes: "Developer mode" is enabled once the slider is blue and disabled when it is grey.


To copy a server ID:

  1. Above the channel list, long press the server name.
  2. In the drop-down menu, press "Copy ID".
    • The Server ID will be copied to your clipboard.
