How to Get a DoorDash Red Card

To receive a DoorDash Red Card, you must register as a DoorDash driver. Here are the conditions to join:

  • You will need to provide your driver's license and social security number (if you are based in the United States).
  • You must consent to a background check.

Then to register:

  1. Navigate to the Dasher sign up website.
  2. Begin registration by entering your email address and phone number.
  3. Enter a name and password.
  4. Choose your type of vehicle. If you are using a car, you will be prompted to enter its details.
  5. Consent to a background check and motor vehicle check if you will be using one. It should only take a few minutes.
  6. Add your bank details for payment.
  7. Download the Dasher app.
  8. Once you have completed your first shift, the app will ask for your address to receive your welcome or activation kit.

The welcome kit includes your red card and a cooler bag. The Activation Kit includes the same and a “Getting Started Manual” as part of your orientation.



What can I do with a DoorDash red card?

Your red card can be used to make payments when prompted by the Dasher app. After accepting an order, your app will say either "Pay with Red Card" or "Place Order." It should only be used for DoorDash orders at the designated restaurant and time; the card will only be filled with the amount due. Red cards do not have a PIN code; therefore, debit card payment attempts will fail.

How to set up the red card

To set up your red card on an iOS device:

  1. Launch the Dasher app.
  2. Tap "Account".
  3. At the top of the page, tap the red-colored link that says "Did DoorDash give you a credit card?" »
  4. Next, enter your Delight number and the last four digits of the long number at the top.

To set up your red card on an Android device:


  1. Launch the Dasher app.
  2. At the top left, tap the Menu icon.
  3. Select "Red Card" from the drop-down list.

How to get a new red card issued

  2. Towards the bottom of the page, select the red map in your area.
  3. Choose your preferred delivery method, quantity, then "Add to Cart".

· The majority of orders do not require pre-payment. Verify that the Dasher app prompts you to use your red card as payment. If so, let the seller know that you are paying by credit card.


· Try logging out of your account and uninstalling the app. Wait at least three minutes before trying to reinstall the app, then try again.

If the problem persists, try self-help:

1. Open the app, then at the top right, on iOS, tap "Help" or "?" on Android.

2. Choose “Red Card Refused” and follow the instructions.

If self-help does not resolve the issue, you can try contacting DoorDash Support:
