Fate/Grand Order cards affect how your minions fight in battle, but they aren't always very effective. To improve the gameplay, the developers introduced the command code system, with which players can continuously upgrade a minion's command cards.
If you're wondering how to get order codes for yourself, you're in luck. These items aren't too hard to get if you play the game regularly. We'll also teach you how to burn your command cards and even remove command codes.
FGO How do I get order codes?
Before discussing getting command codes, you should familiarize yourself with them. Understanding what they do will make using them much more accessible.
What are order codes?
Command Codes are cards themselves, although you cannot use them directly in combat. Instead, they serve as upgrades to command cards that minions use in battle. These are the cards labeled Buster, Quick, or Arts.

You use a combination of these three types of cards to chain together powerful attacks, but using Command Codes, these cards gain permanent bonuses as long as they are engraved. For example, the command code for the legendary beast in the grove inflicts curses on opponents for three turns.
Command Codes come in different rarities, from one to five stars. The more starts a control code has, the more expensive it is to burn onto a control board. Here are the fees
You can also remove the command codes and burn them onto other command boards. This action will require additional items, and we will come back to this later.
If you have additional Command Codes, you can burn them for Mana Prisms and some QP.
Get Order Codes
There are four main ways to get order codes. Let's take a look at each of them:
Friend Points (FP) are a unique currency that you can use to summon Command Codes. You gain SP when you choose a support minion and play in a quest, or if another player chooses your support as a support minion.
You gain 10 FP by choosing Supports, not on your friends list. The amount increases to 25 if the player is your friend. If you play main quests and use NPC support minions, you gain 200 FP.
Along with several crafted minions and essences, there are 10 command codes to summon with FP. Most have two stars, but a few are one-star items.

The rare prism trading section of Da Vinci's Workshop contains many powerful goods. Here you can spend Rare Prisms on Command Codes. However, they are not renewable unless an update does.
There are four Order Codes in the Rare Prism Exchange, but you can only purchase them during events. Additionally, only one copy of each was sold in the shop when events came and went.

Some time-limited events reward you with order codes in stores. One such example is the Lynchpin of Heaven command code. It was a reward in Battle of New York 2022, and at the time of writing the event is being repeated.
As with other replay events, if you failed to get the old rewards, you have a chance to get them now. In 2022, you can grab a copy of Lynchpin of Heaven today if you've missed it before. If you have already received it in the past, it will no longer be available.

In FGO, the word "Campaign" does not refer to the main story. Instead, campaigns are special events that developers release to celebrate milestones. Playing in these missions will earn you generous rewards, even if you just logged in.
The command code reward for the Fate/Grand Order ~5th Anniversary~ campaign was Crest of Titan's Pit. It was a drop from Memorial Quest.

Burning control codes onto control boards
Knowing how to burn your command cards can lead to new strategies and improved teams. Here is what you need to do to engrave your cards:
- Obtain an order code and corresponding code opener.
- Unlock the control board with the code opener.
- Choose the order code you want to engrave on the order card.
- Use the order code.
- Now your command card will receive bonus effects.
The control code, control card and code opener must all be of the same type. You cannot mix Buster and Arts Codes and Openers. Take care to buy the right code openers.
You can instantly replace order codes of two stars and less, but this removes the first one.
All players can delete order codes even after burning, and you can do so as long as you can afford it. Previously, the process required Code Removers, but in August 2022, those items became pretty much obsolete. Switching and deleting control codes is now free.
Heal by attacking
Command Codes can make your minions much more versatile, especially if you like to experiment. You'll eventually get plenty of low-rank copies to experiment with, and you can burn extras as well. Fortunately, the system has received an improvement, making the exchange cheaper and more accessible.
