Recently unveiled by Samsung, the Galaxy S8 is inspired - broadly - by the more refined launcher present on the Google Pixel. We thus find a brand new application launcher – accessible by sliding your finger up the screen – a completely redesigned notification panel and finally the personal assistant Bixby capable of controlling your entire smartphone; At least in theory.
If you have an adventurous spirit and want to try this interface, know that it is quite possible, at least if you are the proud owner of a Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge. A developer attached to the XDA forum offers a method that does not require root and is thus reversible.
Enjoy the new Galaxy S8 interface...
- You have to start by downloading the APK file. Copy it to your smartphone then delete the data and cache data from the phone settings (Settings > Application manager). Once this step is done, just install the APK and press the "Home" button to see the new interface appear.
- Activating Bixby is even easier, just download and install the APK. Long press on the home screen and select Bixby. Swipe right, it should appear.
- Finally, it is also possible to install the new version of "Always on display". To do this, you must download the APK, deactivate "AOD" on your phone, erase the "data" data from the phone settings (Settings > Application manager) and install the new APK.
