Get a USB key with a capacity of at least 4 GB and an image file of the Windows 7 DVD in ISO format, download the "Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool" program and install it.

The installation wizard creates a shortcut to the program on the desktop and another in the Start Menu.

The program comes in the form of a wizard. The first page prompts you to select the Windows 7 DVD ISO image.

The next page allows you to choose the medium on which the ISO image will be extracted: a DVD or a USB key. Choose the USB drive.

Next, select your USB flash drive and click "Begin Copying" to start copying files.

After a possible formatting of your USB key, the copying of the files begins. Depending on the speed of your key, the copy will take more or less time. Be patient, you have to copy more than 2 GB of data.

Once the copy is complete, you can exit the wizard. You will find that the key is identical to that of the installation DVD.

You can then restart your machine by choosing the USB key as the boot device. And as if by magic, the installation starts... Finally, know that this program also works with disk images of the Windows Vista DVD. Read also
