In reality, it is only possible to deactivate and hide Internet Explorer 8 because components of this program are called by other elements of the system. To deactivate it, go to the Control Panel (Control Panel). If you see the default display in categories, click on the category Programs (Programs) then Enable or disable Windows features (Turn Windows Features on or off). If you are using the classic icon view, click Programs and Features (Programs and Features) then Enable or disable Windows features (Turn Windows Features on or off).
In the window that appears, you can disable Internet Explorer 8 by unchecking the appropriate box...
...and then continuing despite the warning that appears.
Wait while the wizard disables Internet Explorer and then choose to restart when complete.
After restarting, you should notice that any mention of Internet Explorer is gone from Windows. To back out, simply tick the box again. Finally, be aware that you can also uninstall other applications, such as Media Center and Windows Media Player, in the same way.
