As Microsoft prepares for the re-release of Windows 10 October Update 1809 development of the next version continues. Today a new Preview version of Windows 10 19H1, code name for the evolutions of Windows 10 in 2022, is proposed.
On his blog Microsoft describes the new features of Windows 10 build 18262 which follow those of the first build 18252. First of all a new column appears in the task manager, it allows to see which applications use the "DPI Awareness", ie a particular screen resolution. The narrator for his part proposes to facilitate the transition from one sentence to another with shortcuts.
The most striking novelty of this build concerns the applications preinstalled by Microsoft. It was already possible to uninstall some of them such as the weather, Skype or Onenote, Microsoft is now adding several other of its applications that it will be possible to delete through the settings or via the start menu list:
- 3D Viewer (previously called Mixed Reality Viewer)
- Computer
- Calendar
- Groove Music
- Movies & TV
- Paint 3D
- Snip & Sketch
- Sticky Notes
- Voice Recorder
Finally, a new tool to fix problems detected automatically in the version in use is available in the update and security settings section. Windows 10 build 18262 is being released to members of the Windows Insider Program who are using the Fast Channel or those who had opted in to the Skip Ahead Channel. The testers who use the slow channel and Release Preview remain on the 1809 version, which is still being finalized.
